Description courte : We inform you that the call for proposals in the frame of the Science 4 Policy research programme is now open. This call is open to the entire Belgian scientific community (universities, colleges, universities of applied sciences, public research centres, non-profit organizations having the pursuit of scientific research in their statutes). The closing of the call is set on October 10.
Description complète : In this call, the focus lies on the "policy-driven" projects within the S4Policy programme. For these projects, the federal government departments have determinedresearch priorities for which support is requested from the Belgian academic community. Ultimately, the aim of each research project is, on the one hand, to strengthen analytical capacity within federal departments and, on the other, to provide scientific evidence to support federal policies. The projects are funded based on a co-funding scheme, in which BELSPO funds a maximum of 90% and the participating federal department(s) a minimum of 10% of the total budget.

These research priorities are now fully described in the document “information file S4P”. Please read this document, and the research-topics relevant to you, thoroughly. You will have the opportunity to ask questions about this at the, as previously communicated, information session that will take place on 28 June 2024, 10 AM.
Pour postuler / aide du Département Recherche : The company to whom we have commissioned a new online platform for submitting research proposals has informed us of a substantial delay in its workflow. We are very sorry for this unfortunate situation which has consequences on the current S4Policy call for proposals. In particular:
 
·       the submission deadline of the Expression of Interest is postponed from 2 December 2024 to 16 january 2025 at 2am. The platform will be open for drafting and submitting EoIs on 6 January 2025; 
·       the submission deadline of the full proposals is postponed from 9 January 2025 to 27 February at 2am. The platform will open for drafting and submitting full proposals on 17 January 2025; 

These changes have been approved by the federal administrations that co-finance the themes of this call. This new timeline allows us to align the start of contracts with the academic calendar (September 2025).
