We would like to invite you to participate to the UnILiON Brokerage Event under the Climate, Energy and Mobility cluster (CL5) calls, that will take place online on 4th June 10:00-12:30 CEST. As a member of the informal network UnILiON, ULB can disseminate relevant information from the network.

The aim of the event is to build a platform, bring together researchers, public and private sector participants to share ideas, knowledge, and expertise and to find suitable partners for future consortia under the specific Horizon Europe calls in Cluster 5, with a deadline of 2025.

Please note that the event will NOT repeat detailed information about each individual call, which the European Commission’s info day will do. Therefore, for that purpose we encourage our interested participants to attend the CL5 info day on 06/05 prior to our brokerage and come to our event with questions and ideas and share their relevant expertise.

Should you be interested in participating in our brokerage event, please register by 28/05/2025.

You can either register as an attendee (you will have opportunity to listen to the pitches) or as a pitch presenter (to make a 3-minute pitch on your ideas and potential).

Please find enclosed the pitch presentation template both for project idea presenters and research group/organisational competence presenters. The deadline to return pitch presentations to anett.ruszanov@birmingham.gov.ukis 28/05/2025.

Please do not hesitate to contact us in case you have any questions or need further clarifications.

The IHI Call Days provides potential applicants with the information they need to put together a strong proposal. More info about this call: Infofin

The IHI Call Days for IHI call 11 will take place from 23 to 30 June 2025 online and will include sessions on the individual topics as well as the rules and procedures.

The EU-funded projects European Citizen Science (ECS) and IMPETUS and the European Research Executive Agency (REA) are the organisers of this cluster event.

The event will focus on the impact of public engagement on evidence-based policy-making and will bring together researchers and policy makers to discuss this topic. Furthermore the event:

  • will provide a platform to showcase successful and innovative citizen engagement strategies, while reinforcing the value of “Bringing science closer to citizens” within the European Research Area.
  • EU-funded research projects will present their citizen science and public engagement experience and share best practices.
  • The winners of the EU Prize for Citizen Science (2025 call) will be announced. The Prize rewards outstanding citizen science initiatives that address social, political, cultural, and environmental challenges through the involvement of citizens.

Registration details will follow in the announcement on the REA website.

About citizen science and public engagement

Citizen science and public engagement in scientific research activities contribute to a vibrant society. Horizon Europe promotes co-creation and co-design through the engagement of citizens and civil society. This has the potential to improve the excellence and impact of research, and to deepen the relationship - and trust - between science and our societies.
